I’m Olivia Ashley Harris, an artist passionate about exploring color, energy, and emotion through my work.
Since an early age, I’ve been infatuated with creating art. Whether I was making handmade cards for every occasion or skipping lunch at school just to take another art class, I always had art supplies close at hand. I then continued my art education journey by minoring in Fine Art at West Chester University while obtaining my BS in Physics. As someone who has many interests and talents across a plethora of fields, it took me years to find my voice as an artist. I struggled with self-identity and fear of mediocrity, and it was only after becoming a mother that I learned the power of resilience. Drawing inspiration from these personal journeys of growth, healing, and self discovery, I now use color, form and texture to convey the beauty in honest openness. My pieces are an exploration of the inner landscape where self-acceptance and empowerment are forged.
I often draw inspiration from the nude figure as it serves as a symbol of vulnerability, revealing the raw, unfiltered essence of the human experience. Through the careful use of color, I highlight the body not as something to be hidden, but as a source of power and liberation. Each piece invites viewers to celebrate the beauty of imperfection and the quiet strength of authenticity.
I love to explore different styles, often blending abstract with realism, or creating the occasional impressionistic piece. Whether through bold, expressive brushstrokes or subtle gradients, I channel personal experiences and cultural narratives to create art that uplifts and inspires. Many of my pieces express my deep commitment to representing the beauty of black womanhood in all its forms. I use color as both a tool and a language-each shade chosen to express emotion, identity, and resilience. My work explores themes of self-love, pride, and empowerment, inviting viewers to connect with the strength and grace of women in a world that often overlooks their brilliance.
