Freedom

“Freedom” is third in a triptych about mental health. This final piece bursts with vibrant, uplifting colors-radiant yellows, transluscent oranges, and bright purples. The colors are now switched: where the figure used to be cool blues and purples in the past, now she is bright orange and exploding out of the darker colors of  before. The figure, once weighed down, now appears open and expressive, reaching outward and soaring. The figure breaking out of the frame represents limitless possibilities. This piece embodies the triumph over adversity, the beauty of mental clarity and the joy of self-acceptance . Once again, one recognizes the white hair, now weightless, as a reminder that she is still the same person as the past panels, but now is filled with a sense of peace and liberation.
