Sweat

“Sweat” came to be a vivid depiction of physical intensity and exertion created during a time of exploration of abstracting the human form. The pixelated, mosaic-like brushstrokes give the impression of moisture and movement. The figure, bathed in fiery hues of red, orange, and yellow, appears to glisten under an unseen heat and even the blue drips in the background allude to perspiration. The posture exudes both exhaustion and resilience, summoning questions of what is causing this fatigue-labor, passion, perseverance, or something else entirely? This interplay of color, texture, and abstraction, makes this piece an electrifying study of endurance and the human form.
